Synthesis and Characterization of Dehydroabietic-based Betaine Type Amphoteric Surfactant
N-(3-dehydroabietyloxy-2-hydroxy)propyl-N, N-dimethyl (2-hydroxy) phospsate betain was synthesized through the 3-dehydroabietyloxy-2-hydroxypropyl chloride and tertiary amine intermediate using dehydroabietic acid as raw materials. The structure of the target product was confirmed by identification of gender-ion experiments, FT-IR, H1 NMR and determination of nitrogen. The surface-active property was investigated by surface tension experiment and measurement of foaming power, foam stability and emulsifying power. The results showed that the nitrogen content was 2.52%; the phosphate content was 1.34 mmol·L-1. Critical micelle concentration (CMC) of the product was 0.806 mmol/L, and the foaming ability was 280 mm, with a strong emulsification ability.
