Synthesis of Nano-grade TiO2 Hollow Spheres Using Acid Catalytic Hydrolysis-Hydrothermal Method
TiO2 hollow spheres were synthesized by a combined acid catalytic hydrolysis and hydrothermal method. TiO2 hollow spheres were obtained by calcination of mixtures of carbon spheres with surface coating of TiO2 precursor under atmosphere condition. The core carbon sphere was oxidized and released in form of gasand TiO2 transforms from uncrystalline to anatase simultaneously achieced. The obtained TiO2 hollow spheres were characterized by means of SEM, TEM, XPS, XRD.The results revealed that the size and surface morphology of TiO2 hollow spheres can be controlled by adjusting the concentration of glucose aqueous solution. With the increasing of concentration of glucose solution, the diameter of TiO2 hollow sphere increased. TiO2 hollow sphere prepared with glucose concentration of 0.7 mol/L is size uniform, with the diameter of 200nm, and the thickness of TiO2 shell 25nm.
