Research Progress on the Extraction Technique of Buddleja officinalis Maxim Yellow Pigment
Buddleja officinalis Maxim yellow pigment is also named natural food dye 8901, which contains crocetin and tiliroside (acacetin) as the main coloring components. Research shows that it has high nutritional value and medicinal value. Technique for extraction of this pigment has been studied preliminarily by domestic scholars. It is overviewed on the operating conditions, influence factors, advantages and disadvantages of traditional aqueous extraction, microwave extraction, macroporous adsorptive resins and other extraction ways. It is also briefly introduced physical and chemical characteristics, toxicological properties and measuring method of the pigment. The optimization for extraction process and application prospects of this pigment have been looking forward.
