Study on Ultrasound-assisted Extraction of Carnosic Acid from Leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis L.
Carnosic acid, the key active component, was extracted ultrasonically from leaves of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.). The different factors such as, ethanol concentration, variety of acid stabilizer, acid stabilizer dosage, ultrasonic frequency, ultrasonic power, ultrasonic extraction time, and the solid-liquid ratio, were studied. In addition, the content trends of rosmarinic acid, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid and carnosol changed with ultrasonic extraction conditions were also examined. The experimental results showed that the reasonable ultrasonic extraction conditions were 75 % ethanol solution, 3 % (w/w) acid stabilizer based on ethanol solution, ultrasonic frequency 28 kHz, ultrasonic power 200 W, ultrasonic extraction time 40 min, solid-liquid ratio 1:16. ultrasound temperature 25 ℃ (in the process of extraction did not exceed 45 ℃). In this condition, the extraction rate of carnosic acid can reach 18.64 mg/g.
