Alkali Pre-extraction before Rice Straw Alkali Pulping
In this paper, the effect of alkali pre-extraction before rice straw alkali pulping was investigated. The rice straw was extracted by water before alkali pre-extraction. In the experiment, some parameters which may affect the alkali pre-extraction were optimized, such as pre-extraction alkaline charge, temperature and time etc. It was shown that dissolved content of hemicellulose and lignin kept on rising with the increase of alkaline charge, pre-extraction temperature and time. But the dissolved content of celluloses had no significant change with these conditions changing. The optimal conditions for alkali pre-extraction before rice straw alkali pulping were obtained as follows: pre-extraction alkaline charge 0.65%, temperature 65℃, liquid-to-solid ratio 1:20, pre-extraction time 4h. Under these conditions mentioned above, cellulose content in rice straw decreased from 34.27% to 34.04%, polypentanose content in rice straw from 18.81% to 13.57%, lignin content in rice straw from 13.59% to 5.35%, ash content in rice straw from 7.15% to 3.21%, respectivley.
