Yield and Chemical Constituents of Essential Oils Steam-distilled from Cinnamomum camphora chvar: Borneol Leaves at Different Time Section
The yield and chemical constituents of essential oils steam-distilled from Cinnamomum camphora chvar:Borneol leaves at different time section was investigated. Cinnamomum camphora chvar:Borneol leaves were steam-distilled by submerged in water. The study was designed to divide the distillation process into four time sections as follow: 0 ~ 10min, 11 ~ 30 min, 31 ~ 60 min, 61 ~ 120 min, collect the corresponding fractions, measure the essential oils separately and analyze their constituents by means of GC-MS. The total yield of leaf oils under atmospheric pressure is 2.81%, and 96.53% of its output in the first 60 minutes of the distillation process. By means of GC-MS, 31 chemical compounds are identified in Cinnamomum camphora chvar:Borneol leaf oils predominated by D-borneol (natural borneol) which accounts for as high as 81.78%.
