Synthesis and Antibacterial Activities of New 1H-dibenzoa,ccarbazoles
A series of new 1H-dibenzoa,ccarbazoles were synthesized in good yield through reaction of methyl 7-oxo-dehydroabietate with different substituted phenylhydrazines. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H-NMR, MS spectral data and elemental analysis. All compounds were tested for their activities against four bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas fluorescens). Among the compound tested, 6d, 6e, 6f and 6m exhibited strong antibacterial activities. Particularly, 6d exhibited significant antibacterial activity against B. subtilis comparable to positive control.
