3D Reconstruction Based on Capsule Endoscopy Image Sequences
The Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) has been gradually used in hospitals due to its breakthrough that it can view the whole gastrointestinal with less suffering. Nevertheless, it generates too many images each time causing a huge burden to physicians; therefore it’s meaningful to help physicians to employ computerized methods to diagnose. One important way is to build up three-dimensional (3D) model of the patient’s tract which can supply exact locating information and support navigation during the intervention. This paper presents the 3D reconstruction based on WCE image sequences. Owing to the invariability of WCE’s internal camera parameter, 3D reconstruction in Euclidean space up to only one uniform scaling factor can be achieved on the condition of known camera parameters. The experiments concerning simulated sequences are proposed. In the conclusion, we point out specific open questions for future research.
