Image Sequence Segmentation Based on the Formal Lattice BOLTZMANN Equation and Its Lower Order Approximation
The image sequence segmentation based on the optical flow is discussed in this paper. The lattice Boltzmann method, which is used in computational fluid dynamics theory for the simulation of fluid dynamics, is involved to set up the formal lattice Boltzmann equation of the optical flow of the image sequence. Several different types of approximations to the formal lattice Boltzmann equation are presented to modify the optical flow constraints. Evaluating the velocity of the optical flow, the edge detection problem can be solved in a way of an approximation method. The experimental results show that the estimating algorithm works well, and the method based on the formal lattice Boltzmann equation of the optical flow is effective for the image sequence segmentation.
