VAPOR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM BEHAVIOR OF PHYSICOCHEMICAL ABSORBENTS FOR CO2 CAPTURE
In this paper, the solubility data of CO2 in physico chemical absorbents of dibutyl ether/NMEA/ethanol solutions were measured using an isothermal synthetic apparatus built up recently in our lab. This experimental system mainly consists of an equilibrium cell, a gas chamber, a burette and an isothermal water bath. The solubility data of CO2 in ethanol were firstly measured at 313.15 K. The experimental data were compared with literature data to verify the reliability of this method. The average absolute relative deviations between experi-mental data and literature data are 1.80 and 0.66 %. Then the CO2 solubility data in three physicochemical absor-bents with NMEA mass fractions of 15 %, 25 % and 50 % were measured at 298.15 K. The data were compared with those of the CO2/butyl ether system. It shows that the CO2 solubility increases when NMEA mass fraction goes up. The CO2 solubility data in 25 % NMEA solution were measured at 4 temperatures from 298.15 K to 323.15 K and at a pressure range form 0 to 3 MPa. The Data of this experiment were also compared with those of CO2/butyl ether system. CO2 turns out to be more soluble in the physicochemical absorbents than in butyl ether at each temperature.
