FLOW APPARATUS FOR HEAT CAPACITY OF LIQUIDS AND GASES:RESEULTS OF DIMETHYL ETHER
A flow apparatus of calorimeter for measuring isotonic heat capacities of liquids and gases was developed at the pressure up to 25 MPa and temperature from 290 K to 600 K. The apparatus was verified by measuring specific heat capacities of carbon dioxide and nitrogen. The isobaric heat capacities of carbon dioxide at temperature of 302.74-343.19 K and pressure of 0.15-0.35 MPa were measured with 2.99% difference from literature values. The isobaric heat capacities of nitrogen were measured at 293.26 K-313.06 K and 0.15 MPa-0.55 MPa with 2.37% difference from literature values. So the reliability of the experimental apparatus was verified. The heat capacities of dimethyl ether (DME) were also measured for the application of alternative fuels.
