PREPARATION AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF QUATERNARY MIXED NITRATE SALTS
Mixed molten salts is considered a promising medium for both heat transfer and energy storage in solar thermal power because of its’ many advantages such as low melting point, low cost, wide range of temperature in application, etc. To meet the requirement of high temperature of solar heat transfer and thermal storage, a new type of quaternary nitrate salts was prepared with different mass proportions. The molten salt mixtures were prepared from NaNO3, KNO3, LiNO3 and Additibve A. Thermodynamic properties such as melting point, latent heat of fusion, specific heat, TG curve of mixed molten salts were measured by differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric analysis by using STA409-PC manufactured by Netschi Company from Germany. Experimental results show that melting point of some molten salts, with preferable properties, can be low to below 100℃. In addition, quantity of Additive A is the primary factor effecting melting point and viscosity. The larger quantity of Additive A is, the lower melting point of mixture is, while the larger viscosity of mixture is.
