SENSING OF SURFACE PROPERTIES OF BINARY LIQUID MIXTURES MIXED WITH MICROREACTOR BY RIPPLON SURFACE LASER-LIGHT SCATTERING METHOD
Microreactors are attracted by chemical manufacturing technology. As these microreactors are applied to liquid mixtures formed hydrogen bonds, microreactors may affect structures of clusters in micro scale other than mixing short period of time. The purpose of the present study is to develop a sensing apparatus by ripplon surface laser-light scattering (SLLS) method, and to detect the differences in surface properties of liquid mixtures between two different mixing procedures, a microreactor and an ordinary mixing. In the present study, we have improved the measurement apparatus to measure the surface tension within ± 0.5% and the viscosity within ± 3 % of standard deviations. We have enabled to measure for wider range wavelength of ripplon quickly and accurately. Moreover, we have checked the mixing procedure of an ordinary mixing. By using this apparatus, we have checked the reliability through the measurement of surface tension and viscosity of ethanol/water solutions. We have found the difference in surface tension and the no difference in viscosity between different mixing procedures depending on concentration of ethanol.
