OPTIMAZATION OF CONVENTIONAL CYLANDRICAL TYPE HEAT PIPE REGARDING ENTROPY GENERATION IN SYSTEM

Heat pipe is passive device to transfer heat locally, Entropy generation, caused by thermodynamics parameter, such as temperature difference between cold and hot reservoirs, frictional losses in working fluid flow and pressure/temperature drop along the heat pipe, meanwhile thermodynamics parameters, geometrical parameters like evaporator and condenser length, heat pipe diameter are important factors in entropy generation of system. In this paper effect of thermodynamic and geometrical parameters on entropy generation in conventional heat pipe have been discussed. Variation of entropy generation versus evaporator and condenser lengths and heat pipe diameter is studied analytically. Effect of different input heat flux on entropy generation is studied too. The relationship between heat pipe efficiency and entropy generation has been studied.
