Miscibility Comparison for Dimethyl Ether and Some Lubricants
Dimethyl ether (DME) is considered as a potential clean alternative refrigerant. In this paper, an experimental apparatus was developed for measuring the miscibility of the DME and lubricant mixtures. During the experimental process, a rotation device was used to make the test cells achieve equilibrium quickly. The miscibility was measured for the binary mixtures of DME and three kinds of lubricants. On the basis of the experimental results and physicochemical properties of mineral oil and Polyol ester (POE), mineral oil was selected for the better lubricant for DME.
