THERMO-STRESS AND THERMO-ELASTISITY DETERMINED BY HEAT TRANSPORTATION AND MEDIUM DEFORMATION FIELDS
For actual industrial application of precision control of heat transportation by fluid, only having the information about the elasticity dependence on temperature is not enough as the heat transportation variation will also cause the variation of thermo-elasticity of medium. Based on geometrical field theory of rational mechanics, this research studies the theoretic relations between the thermo-stress, thermo-elasticity, heat transportation, and mechanical deformation. The variations of heat transportation vector will determine the thermo-stress within medium. As the thermo-stress will balance the mechanical deformation stress, then the thermo-elasticity of medium will depend on the variations of heat transportation also. After getting the general formulation, two typical problems are studied. One problem is that, when the interfacial heat transportation is invariant case, what deformation will be produced within the medium? In this research, the corresponding stress is defined as thermo-stress since this stress is purely caused by heat transportation. Another problem is the effects of deformation on the heat transportation. Finally, the total stress is expressed as the additive addition of thermo-stress and the mechanical deformation stress. By this equation, the thermo-elasticity can be generally defined as the function of heat transportation and mechanical deformation. For inverse interpretation of in-site measurements in heat transportation process, these theoretic formulations may be helpful.
