SPECIFIC HEAT AND THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF N-HEXTRIACONTANE AND ITS COMPOSITE
This study focuses on the specific heat, thermal conductivity and diffusivity of n-hextriacontane and its modified composite as promising phase change material (PCM) for thermal energy storage. The specific heats of the studied materials were measured in the temperature range of 276-338 K by temperature modulate differential scanning calorimetry (TMDSC). Thermal conductivity was measured in the range of 303-333 K with hot disk technique. Thermal diffusivity was calculated based on the specific heat, thermal conductivity and density. The results of the investigations show that the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of both n-Hexatriacontane and modified samples decrease with increasing of temperature, but the modified sample has better performance than n-Hexatriacontane. The modified n-Hexatriacontane possess a promising application as phase change materials used for the micro-electronics radiator, considering the advantage that it has a great latent heat storage in the temperature range of 340-350 K.
