PERFORMANCE OF SUPERCRITICAL CYCLE FOR COMPRESSED AIR ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM

Supercritical compressed air energy storage as a new storage system has been proposed in recent years. The system could be used in the intermittent power generation system such as the solar energy generation, wind power generation and so on. Comparing with the compressed air energy storage system, the storage and power generation process use air as working fluid and there is no greenhouse gas emission, so the system has good effect on the environment over the compressed air energy storage system. In this paper, thermoeconomic method is used to evaluate the economy of supercritical compressed air energy storage system and compressed air energy storage system and software EES is used to simulate. The price of input energy decided by market and the results show that the electricity price of output is 0.4757 RMB/kW h for supercritical compressed air energy storage system and the price for the other system is 0.5313 RMB/kW h, it has obvious economic advantage comparing with the market peak price and compressed air energy storage.
