COMPERATIVE STUDY ON THERMALBEHAVIOR OF DYSPROSIUM SOAPS
Dysprosium soaps were prepared by direct metathesis of corresponding potassium soaps with an aqueous solution of dysprosium nitrate. The energy of activation, order of reaction for thermal decomposition, frequency factor, entropy of activation, and free energy of activation for the thermal decomposition of dysprosium soaps have been calculated by using the Freeman-Carroll’s equation. The decomposition of dysprosium soaps found kinetically of zero order and chain length of carbon does not possess any remarkable effect on thermal decomposition of dysprosium soaps.
