Study of Radiative Properties of Perovskite-Type Compound
With the demand of developing miniature spacecrafts, smart thermal control coatings will become a more and more important measure for thermal management in future spacecrafts. Thermochromic materials, i.e., the materials with temperature-dependent radiative properties, can be used to prepare such smart thermal control coatings. Besides the temperature, the components of the materials exert the radiative properties of perovskite-type. In this paper, we are concentrated on two sorts of perovskite-type compounds La1-xAxMnO3(A=Calcium, Strontium). The conventional solid-state reaction method is used to synthesize a series of samples of perovskite-type compounds La1-xSrxMnO3(x=0.1, 0.175, and 0.3) and La0.7Ca0.2Sr0.1MnO3.The structures of the compounds are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Their emissivity is measured at different temperature levels (243-343 K). The spectral reflectance is measured in a wide frequency (150-40 000 cm-1). The effects of temperature and component fraction on the radiative properties and Curie temperature of the materials are discussed from the experimental data.
