Latent Factors Influence on Resident Perception of Evacuation Decision Making in Flood Emergency

Three latent factors which influences on residents’ perception of evacuation decision making in flood emergency has been discovered and interpreted from three case studies.These three factors from three case studies have been separately investigated by using the observation and questionnaire survey for statistical analysis.First study area,from Ayutthaya Island,Thailand revealed that the locality start their first notation of flood emergency by using their local knowledge in flood forecasting and decide to evacuate.Second factor was found from second case study,Toyooka City,Japan.The result pointed out the essential of risk information.It declared types of information which should be conveyed to the community.The last factor,learnt from Waju,Japan,is the matter of the communicator itself.Community leader was stated as one factor,which could drive community’ evacuation decision making.
