Ecological Security Assessment of Jiangxi Province Based on Soil Erosion
Jiangxi Province was selected as the study area to investigate the influences of soil erosion and water loss on the regional ecological security. The indices system of ecological security assessment was constructed based on the condition of soil erosion. The ecological security was evaluated using the Pressure-State-Response model. The results showed that the ecological security of Jiangxi Provincial changed to better in the period of 1996 to 2000. However, the provincial integerated level of ecological security was only n classes (or grade). Great pressure existed in the ecological security of Jiangxi Province. The spatial variation in ecological security level was distinguish, which revealed in the differences of spatial distribution and absolute figure. A closely relationship between soil erosion and water loss and ecological security was found in Jiangxi province. The influences of soil erosion on the ecological security would be more and more important.as the intergerated ecological security level rised.
