Research on Land Use and Land Cover Change and Driving Forces Based on RS in Handan
Using the Landsat-TM data of 1996 and 2006, Handan was made the dynamic Monitoring research of land use and land cover change (LUCC) based on the technology of remote sensing (RS) and geographical information systems (GIS) and the analysis of driving forces, which adopted the combined method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results showed that farmland and grassland had declined, forest land, mining land, construction land had increased, land use patterns had changed significantly, the degree of land use had increased. and land use was still in development stage. Land use and land cover change of Handan was mainly affected by human activities between 1996 and 2006. The development of economy, urbanization, the increasing of population etc were included in the inner driving forces of the change. The study production provided the effective data reasonably and decision to the sustainable utilization of the land resources and the research of environment changes of Handan.
