Characteristics of runoff-sediment production on vegetation sloping lands of Loess area
Based on a small catchment, the studies of the soil-water conservation effects of re-vegetation evaluated the project of Conversion of Farmland to Forest and Grassland Regeneration in the wind-water erosion crisscross zone, but also could be as recommendation for re-vegetation practice. In this work, the characteristics of runoff-sediment production measurements on different vegetation sloping lands were conducted using experimental plot method from the Liudaogou catchment. located in a typical wind-water erosion crisscross zone on the Loess Plateau of China. Land use and soil texture influenced soil erosion processes significantly. Compared to cropland, the erosion reduction rate of bunge needlegrass land. korshinsk peashrub land, apricot land and fallow land were greater than 80% in 2007. Grey relational analysis suggested that vegetation coverage and plant height were the important factors affecting the runoff and sediment production on sloping land, whose grey relational grades all exceeded 0.5.
