Research on the coupling of landscape health and socio-economic level in Chengdu-Chongqing economic belt

Since the 21st century, the urbanization has accelerated to develop. High density population has concentrated and the highly strengthen social product has developed. Inevitably, the regional landscape health has been threatened. To research on the coupling mechanism of socio economic level and landscape health, may not only provide the important policy-making support for the landscape management and the scientific planning, while may help to go deep into the comprehensive research of nature and social sciences. Under the guidance of the Westem development strategy, the urbanization in Chengdu-Chongqing economic belt was accelerated. Some regional eco-environmental problems caused by the landscape pattem changes were also emerged. Firstly, based on landscape structure, this article constructed a regional landscape health evaluation index system and consequently appraised the landscape health using the method of factor synthesis. Then, 15 indicators were selected and a model was established using principal component analysis to assess the regional socio-economic level. Finally, the correlation between the landscape health and the socio-economic level was studied respectively from the integrated and the secondary level. The results showed that the conjoint part of Chengdu and Chongqing radiation area had relatively low landscape health index. The landscape health index and the socio-economic level had extremely significant correlation. Each socio-economic indicator had a significant negative correlation with the landscape health. Among that, the population index displayed prominently, which reflected that the demand growth would obviously threat to the health of the landscape ecosystem.
