Land Resource Planning with Finite Object Method
In order to conduct a rational planning of the limited land resources in a certain mountain area quickly and conveniently, Finite Object Method (FOM), a land resource planning method easy to be mastered and utilized by the technicians in the field was proposed, that is, according to the population of the area to be planned, a preliminary scheme of land resource plan is worked out first. and then it is tested with the slope runoff resources and land resource requirements in the subject area; after several trial calculations and satisfactions of those requirements, the economic benefits of the scheme will be calculated. The basic data are required in this method. which are easy to be acquired by the technicians in the field, including the statistical measurement data of various types of slopes, precipitation. the irrigation water demand in the irrigated terraces. the water yield of the catchment areas, the earnings of various types of slopes, etc. The means and steps of FOM were introduced in this study, and then a case was cited to demonstrate the application calculation of the FOM on the land resource planning.
