Study of the Influence Factors on Roots Tensile Strength of Cavaganav micvophylla Lam. And Sabina vulgaris Ant.
Plant roots system is a main part in biological measure playing effective role on soil-reinforcement and anti-erosion. the tensile strength of plants roots is one of the indicators in studying mechanical mechanism of soil-reinforcement by roots. This paper aimed at the two typical soil reinforcing plant-Caragana microphylla Lam. and Sabina vulgaris Ant., which are growing in the area that has been eroded by wind and water in the middle and western Inner Mongolia, and studied effects of some factors such as root diameter, growth period, loading speed and soil moisture content on tensile strength of roots. The results showed that: with the increase of the root diameter, the tensile strength of single root is decrease with the parabolic function. and the tensile strength of single root of Caragana microphylla Lam. is larger than that of Sabina vulgaris Ant. The tensile strength of single root of each plant are all decreased with the increase of loading speed, soil moisture content and length of text roots.
