Study on return period of rainfall erosivit in China
Calculation of retum periods of annual and maxi mum event rainfall erosivity is an important foundation for accurately predicting soil loss and designing soil and water conservation measures. Year-to-year minutely rainfall data in the period from 1961---2000 are collected from twelve weather stations located in the four water erosion regions in China. The Generalized Extreme Value analysis (GEV) is used to fit the annual and maximum event rainfall erosivity in order to study on different levels of retum period. Maximum event rainfall erosivity of 20、 50、 100-year frequency vary from 1126 to 4807 MJ mm ha-1h-1, from 1512 to 7570 MJ mm ha-1h-1, and from 1859 to 10654 MJ mm ha-1h-1 respectively. Annual rain fall erosivity of 20、 50、 100-year frequency vary from 2434 to 13800 MJ mm ha-1h-1y-1, from 2844 to 16703 MJ mm ha-1h-1y-1, and from 3137 to 19137 MJ mm ha-1h-1y-1 respectively.
