Experimental Study on Dynamics of Runoff Erosion on Slope
Based on scouring experiment on glass flume, the rule of shallow flow movement on slope was analyzed in this paper. The results show that the shallow flow movement was not the uniform flow along the down-slope, but in the way of the kinetic wave. The scouring experiment on soil bed flume validated the rule of shallow flow movement on slope and the relationship between the runoff velocity, runoff discharge, slope gradient and experiment time conformed to power function. Based on the scouring experiments in soil-bed flume, the mechanisms of rill erosion and sediment transport in rill, the relationship between the soil detachment and the runoff energy consumption were studied. A soil erosion model on slope was built by using the law of conservation energy.
