Development Status of Multi-Physics and Multi-Scale Coupled Analysis Platform at NPIC
Recently, safety analysis of Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) requires to develop some new tools to perform more realistic and detailed simulation. Coupling of different computer codes is an effective way. This paper presents the development status of multi-physics and multi-scale coupled analysis platform at the Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC). The platform consists of four types of codes: NLSANMT, COBRA-IV, CFX and RELAP5 that are respectively dedicated to neutron kinetics, core thermal-hydraulics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and system thermal-hydraulics simulation. Several benchmarks and testing cases have been carried out to verify and validate the couplings among the codes. The results demonstrate the success of this development phase. Further improvements and developments have been planned.
