Evaluation on Spray System Effect of Ling’ao II NPP during Large

Spray system in Ling’ao II NPP can maintain the pressure and temperature in containment under safety value. This paper applies spray model in 3D CFD code GASFLOW to analyze the efficiency of the spray system. This spray model is firstly validated using the MISTRA experiment data, the comparison between the experiment data and simulation result shows the spray model can simulate the spray behavior reasonable well. Then Large Break LOCA is chosen as the scenario to analyze the spray system; the effects from spray starting time which can influence the spray effect are discussed in detail. Hydrogen safety is also considered in the evaluation since spray can affect the behavior of hydrogen in containment under severe accident.
