Development of Distributed, Mobile Simulation Test System for Verification and Validation of Digital Control System
Digital Control System (DCS), which plays an important role in safe and stable operation of Nuclear Power Plants (NPP), will be widely used in more and more Chinese NPP in the near future, such as Ling Ao Phase II NPP in Guangdong province, Hongyanhe NPP in Liaoning province, etc. Before the phase of real plant testing on the reactor, Chinese engineers want to make sure that configuration is right and control functions can be accomplished, so primary Verification and Validation (V&V) of DCS works were necessary. Based on the object-based simulation program and industrial DCS hardware and software, we develop the distributed, mobile simulation test system. The simulation test system can connect with nuclear power plant’s digital control system (DCS) through I/O hard-wiring, perform testing or logical rehearsal using open-loop and closed-loop control simulation code, verify the control system of nuclear island, conventional island and electricity system by one to one or associated tests. Because Instrumentation and Controls systems (I&C) is complex and different electricity system locate in different places, the distributed, mobile features are more adapted to the simulation test system. Through the distributed, mobile simulation test system, engineers can not only check and verify the control strategy of I&C without checking the diagram configuration one by one according to the original design, but also save the time and energy for driving testing platform from cellar to rafter. In this paper, we will mainly focus on the precept of applying full-scoped engineering simulator to do V&V works, the structure of our full-scoped simulator, the function of different block, data acquisition&processing, and primary V&V result.
