Thermal Responses of a Deep Burn High Temperature Reactor Core
The Deep Burn concept refers to burning transuranic actinides to extremely high burnup in very high temperature gas cooled reactors. This paper presents the calculated thermal responses under high pressure conduction cooldown and low pressure conduction cooldown transient conditions using RELAP5-3D for a very high temperature gas cooled reactor with a deep burn prismatic core design.
