Eulerian Description Model for Deposition of Drops in Annular Flow Regime
A one-dimensional deposition model based on the continuous equations derived from the probability density function of the drop distribution is extensively compared to experimental data sets. The selected experimental sets contain different combination of fluids (density ratio) and different deposition surface, such as bare wall versus liquid film. The comparison showed an encouraging qualitative agreement. To indicate the cause of the quantitative discrepancy a sensitivity study to the change of parameters, which incorporate some empiricism, was conducted. The model was found to be sensitive to the definition of the drop drag coefficient and the selection of the appropriate friction velocity. A further study of the three-dimensional deposition model is undertaken.
