Sensitivity Study of the Great Size Advanced PWR With the Passive Reactor Make-up Tank
Developing the advanced nuclear power plant design to meet the demanding safety, efficiency and environmental goals of electric utilities requires great efforts. A passive reactor make-up tank (RMT) combined with other active safety systems is introduced into great size advanced PWR designs. The typical accidents are calculated and analyzed for this safety system design, such as SB-LOCA, SGTR, SLB and LOFA. The sensitivity of the RMT with different volumes, and elevations are also studied. It is preliminarily concluded that this safety system design in great size PWR makes a great balance between passive and active safety systems.
