Transverse Deformation Control in Low Alloy Wear-resistant Steel Quenching Process
Computation model for low alloy wear-resistant steel quenching process is established by finite element method. Four work conditions are designed for studying the effect of cooling uniformity of new cooler on quenching plate shape. The temperature and stress-strain field under four work conditions are calculated through the established model. The rule of plate deformation due to uneven cooling along transverse direction is obtained. The interaction of the thermal stress and phase stress is an important factor for plate deformation. The results of the study provide important theoretical basis to control wear-resistant steel plate deformation and improve production efficiency and manufacturing yield.
