Study on COS Removal of Iron and Manganese Oxides at Middle-high Temperature
It has been proved that the iron-manganese based sorbents containing Fe2O3 and Mn2O3 active components were effective to remove H2S from hot coal gas at middle-high temperature.In order to investigate if these sorbents have the capability to remove COS simultaneously in hot coal gas desulfurization process,the sulfidation performances of different iron and manganese species were studied in COS/N2 or H2/COS/N2 gas stream at 500oC.It was found that sequence of MnO > Mn2O3 > Fe3O4 > Fe2O3 > Fe.The reaction activity of manganese oxide is far bigger than that of iron-based active component.The test results in H2/COS/N2 gas stream showed that the formation of sulfides from different active components can promote the reaction of COS and H2 to H2S and CO in varying degree
