Investigation of the Nox Storage Behavior and Sulfur-tolerance of the BaFeO3-x Perovskite Catalyst
The BaFeO3-x perovskite catalysts were prepared by sol-gel method. For all of the catalyst, the optimized NOx storage capacity (NSC) was obtained at 400 ℃.The Ba-Fe-1 perovskite catalyst, containing mainly carbonate, spinel and perovskite phases, possessed large NSC.For the Ba-Fe-2 perovskite catalyst, only the perovskite phase and the small amount of the spinel phase were evidenced by XRD,and no carbonate existed. This catalyst had small NSC comparing with the Ba-Fe-1 perovskite catalyst. The results of the XRD and in situ DRIFT experiments demonstrate that the BaCO3 phase in the Ba-Fe-1 perovskite catalyst plays a key role to enhance the NOx storage ability, but it is more easily sulfated to the bulk BaSO4 during the sulfation. On the contrary, the Ba ions, which were located in the perovskite crystal lattice and surrounded by Fe ions, are hardly sulfated inducing the significantly improved sulfur-tolerance of the Ba-Fe-2 perovskite catalyst
