CO Preferential Oxidation in Hydrogen Stream over Au/CeO2, Au/Co3O4 and Au/CeO2-Co3O4 Catalysts for Fuel Cell Application
The catalytic performance of Au/CeO2,Au/Co3O4 and Au/CeO2-Co3O4 for CO preferential oxidation (PROX) in hydrogen stream was investigated.For Au/CeO2,the highest CO conversion of 97% is reached at 105 oC with 54% selectivity.Over Au/Co3O4,100% CO conversion can be obtained at 118-140 oC,but methanation reaction takes place at 160 oC.As for Au/CeO2-Co3O4,100% CO conversion with 56% selectivity can be obtained at ambient temperature; it is a good catalyst for CO PROX without methanation.Moreover,it also has excellent stability for CO PROX at 80 oC and during the cyclic temperature operation.The characterizations results demonstrated that the significant interaction between ceria and cobalt oxide existed and should be responsible for the superiority of Au/CeO2-Co3O4
