A Novel Layered Integrated Network Management System for Large Scale Wireless Sensor Networks

A high-density scale wireless sensor network can be applied to different situations. There are so many nodes in the network that the whole network can cover a large area. How to control and to manage so many wireless sensor nodes is one of the most key problems. Based on the research of the management systems in networks which include transmission network, switch network computer network and so on, we put forward a novel layered integrated network management system (LINMS) model adapting to the large scale wireless sensor network. The LINMS model is divided into five layers which are general management layer, service management layer, network proxy management layer, gateway node management layer and cluster management layer. The LINMS can not only fit different sensor networks for various purposes of different coverings but also be used for the mixed networks which involve sensor networks, transmission networks, switching networks, internet and etc. According to the LINMS model, the reliability performance analysis and the simulation result both show that the reliability of LINMS is relatively high and can meet most conditions of the wireless sensor networks.
