THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY INCREASE OF FLUO-SOLID REACTOR USING THE WASTE (SECONDARY) HEAT ENERGY OF ROASTING PROCESS

Pyrometallurgical copper production is high energy consumer, and, also, high quantity of waste (secondary) heat energy is produced in this process and emitted into environment. The energy efficiency of total metallurgical process is increased using this waste heat. Due to those reasons, a posibility and method of practical usage the high temperature waste heat energy of roasting process was analyzed in this work for electric energy production in the closed condensation steam block. In the process of pyrometallurgical copper production, the production of secondary heat energy is 1.621 kWthh/kg dry concentrate or available heat (it presents a difference of heat at furnace outlet and heat at temperature that is over temperature of dew point the sulphuric acid of gases) that is 1.315 kWthh/kg copper concentrate. For designed capacity of the Copper Smelter Plant in Bor, the available heat power of secondary energy is 92.111 MWth, what is the equivalent to the power of steam-turbo plant, where the Rankine-Clausius heat cycle is realized to the amount of 28.334 MWe. Using the waste (secondary) heat energy of pyrometallurgical process in RTB-Bor-Group will decrease the primary energy consumption, improve the energy efficiency of process and economical results, and decrease the environment pollution.
