The worldwide concern focuses, nowadays, mainly on finding environmental-friendly energy production ways. In this viewpoint biofuels assume an outstanding position in renewable energy production since they present a large number of benefits and advantages when compared to the fossil fuels. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of distinct kind of oils that, under the presence of a catalyst, chemically react with an alcohol (usually methanol or ethanol) producing esters (biodiesel) and glycerol (or glycerin/e) as the main by-product 1.
