HISTORICAL AND FUTURE ASPECTS OF COMPOSTING IN THE NETHERLANDS

Executive Summary In the Netherlands we have a well developed composting industry. The annual quantity which is composted is 1650 Kton including organic waste from companies. The composting industry could be originated on this scale by imposing a legal framework that obliges municipalities to collect household organic waste separately.
