Preparation and Properties of Wood-ceramics Modified by EH-lignin
A new type of woodceramics was developed by carbonizing wood power impregnated with phenolic resin modified by EH-lignin (EHL) at 1000℃ under vacuum. The effects of EHL and EHL content in woodceramics on the weight loss ratio, volume shrinkage ratio, apparent density, open porosity, bending strength and compressive strength were investigated. The pyrolytic behaviors of EHL-modified thermosetting phenolic resin and thermosetting phenolic resin without EHL were also evaluated using thermogravimetry. The experimental results showed that EHL and EHL content had significant influences on the properties of woodceramics. Due to the modification of EHL, the open porosity, weight loss ratio and volume shrinkage ratio of woodceramics were increased, while the apparent density, bending strength and compressive strength were decreased. The EHL content had influences on the open porosity, in certain range, the open porosity increased with the increasing EHL dosage.
