TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER FROM PULPING INDUSTRY USING SOLID WASTES CONTAINING IRON OXIDE AS HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSTS
Pulping industry generates great quantities of wastewaters during its manufacturing process which are necessary to be treated. The first results on the treatment of a wastewater from a pulping manufacture in ThaiNguyen province (Vietnam) by catalytic wet oxidation (CWO) at middle reaction conditions (150℃, 15 bar) using solid wastes containing iron oxide as heterogeneous catalysts were communicated. These solid wastes were active for the oxidation of pollutants in the black liquor and showed high application potential in CWO process for the treatment of this kind of industrial wastewater.
