Preparation and characterization of mesoporous activated carbons from waste tyre
Mesoporous activated carbons were synthesized from waste tyres via steam activation and followed by acid wash. The effects of synthetic conditions were studied and the surface properties of the derived tyre carbon was characterized with various techniques. The acid wash was found to play an important role in the development of the mesopores.
