Investigation on Static and Dynamic Mechanical Behaviors of Ti700 Alloy
Quasi-static and dynamic compression experiments of Ti700 alloy are implemented by MTS and split Hopkinson pressure bar equipments. Static compression elastic modulus and yield stress are gained. And the relation of dynamic stress versus strain is obtained by dynamic compression experiments. The results indicate that dynamic compression yield strength of Ti700 alloy is strain rate relative. Dynamic yield stress increases with strain rate. The dynamic yield strength is over 1.4GPa at strain rate of 1500s-1,and much greater than the static yield strength 1.13GPa. Failure strain is less than 0.25 and the main failure mode is shear failure in dynamic compression experiments.
