Thermodynamic Characteristics Analysis of a High Temperature Fuel Flow‐rate Control Valve
High temperature flow-rate control valve is a key component to control the flow rate of fuel supply for aerospace engines. A high temperature fuel flow-rate control valve, pilot-controlled by a high pressure pneumatic system, is developed in this paper. The construction and working principle of the valve are introduced. The thermodynamic mathematical models of the valve are built and the thermodynamic characteristics are simulated by using the 3D finite element analysis method under the condition that the material of the valve elements is a high temperature alloy. Then both of the steady-state and transient temperature field distribution inside the spool and valve body are studied. Also the thermal stress and thermal strain of the valve are calculated.
