Design and Implementation of an FPGA-Based Self-Repairing AMB controller for Space MSFW
Magnetically suspended flywheel (MSFW) for space application requires fault-tolerant and highly adaptive real-time controller. Field programmable gate array (FPGA) offers a flexible platform to develop robust, adaptable systems for space. As a first step, a FPGA-based digital controller with LEON soft core processor subsystem is presented for active magnetic bearing (AMB) of space MSFW. A prototyping platform is designed to test algorithms and verify system performance. At last, a self-repairing FPGA-based AMB controller is proposed.
