Study on Modeling Simulation of Long-span Gantry NC Machining Center Structure

The structure of traditional machine tool is designed through experience, analogy, and static traditional design method. The machine structure was heavy and design cycle is long. So the cost is expensive. Therefore, there are a lot of places need improvements. The finite element model of the beam structure was structured by using three-dimensional CAD modeling software-UG NX4.0 and finite element analysis software-ANSYS. And then the whole beams static and dynamic characteristics were obtained. The double wall structure of the beam with optimized static and dynamic performance was given on the basis of simulations. The Y direction-the maximal displacement direction of the beam was obtained. The maximum displacement for 0.0289 mm in middle and spindle box beam contact point Through the analysis of the beam, the machine can see the integral structure stiffness and strength, especially the strength. The use of finite element theory and modal analysis theory was used at the design stage of machine tools. The job performance and processing accuracy can be improved, and the development cycle can be shortened.
